FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Schildkröt dolls and clothes are lovingly handcrafted in our doll manufactory in Rauenstein, Thuringia.
We ship all orders via DHL. Within Germany, the delivery time for items without personal embroidery is typically 3–5 business days. Please note that during the Christmas season, delivery times may be longer due to high parcel volumes at DHL.
For dolls with personal embroidery, the delivery time within Germany is 7–10 business days.
International deliveries take longer and vary depending on the destination country. We do our best to ship your order as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding
We place great importance on environmentally friendly packaging. Our dolls are packed in an attractive pink-and-blue cardboard box without a plastic window, made from recyclable materials. By avoiding plastic film, we actively contribute to environmental protection and rely on sustainable solutions. We participate in the dual system via the provider “Grüner Punkt.”
The doll clothing is carefully attached to a cardboard hanger to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. For protection during shipping, the clothes are packaged together in a plastic bag. This helps prevent damage and soiling.
Smaller items such as shoes and socks are packed in small plastic bags, as we cannot ship them loose for practical reasons. We constantly strive to balance protection and sustainability and are pleased to offer you our products in environmentally conscious packaging.
Please return the item at your own expense, as stated in our Terms and Conditions. You will receive a credit note, and we will refund your payment. Make sure to include a copy of the invoice and the cancellation policy with the return shipment.
Please note that some websites falsely claim we provide value assessments for Schildkröt dolls. This is not correct. Unfortunately, we cannot provide valuations for old Schildkröt dolls, as their value fluctuates significantly and the collector’s market is highly inconsistent.
We therefore recommend contacting antique dealers, doll fairs, or auction houses to obtain information on the value of such dolls. You may also find helpful information in online forums.
Thank you for your understanding.
We appreciate your interest in learning more about your Schildkröt dolls and are happy to assist you. Please understand that we can identify a maximum of three dolls per inquiry and are unable to evaluate entire collections.
To help us provide accurate information, we kindly ask you to send us a photo of the undressed doll from the front and back, as well as a clear image of the marking on the doll’s neck. This will allow us to potentially identify the model.
Please note that we have only limited information on vintage Schildkröt dolls, as very few archival materials or old catalogues exist. The destruction of the Mannheim factory during World War II, along with several company ownership changes from the 1960s to the 1980s, has resulted in the loss of much historical documentation.
We will do our best to assist you and thank you for your understanding.
